Adding a Teams destination

Important

Microsoft retired Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams in May 2026. See Microsoft: Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams.

Teams destinations that use an Office 365 connector URL no longer work. To post to Teams, you must use a webhook link from a Teams workflow. Edit any affected destination and replace the URL with a new webhook link.

The Teams destination type lets you send notifications or schedule sharing to a Microsoft Teams channel using a webhook link from a Teams workflow.

  1. In Microsoft Teams, go to the channel you want to send notifications to.
  2. Click More channel options at the top right of the channel, then select Workflows.
  3. In the Create a workflow section, select the Send webhook alerts to a channel template.
  4. Check that the Team the channel is in and Channel fields show the team and channel you want to send notifications to, then click Save.
  5. Optionally, click Rename to change the name of the workflow.
  6. Click Copy webhook link. This is the URL you will use when adding a destination in SquaredUp.

Add a destination in SquaredUp

After copying the webhook link from Teams, add a new notification destination in SquaredUp.

  1. In SquaredUp, navigate to Settings > Monitoring > Destinations.
  2. Click Add destination to open the Add destination window.
  3. Select Teams. Then configure the following:
    1. Destination name:
Enter a name for your destination. This helps you to identify this destination in the list of your destinations.
    2. URL:
Paste the webhook link you copied from Teams.
    3. Query parameters:
Click Add query parameter to include additional key:value pairs in your request URL. Each parameter is appended to the query string when the request is sent.

Toggle encryption for a parameter value using the encrypt icons / next to it.

  4. Optionally, click Test to send a test message to the Teams channel. A message that says "This is a test notification from SquaredUp." appears in the channel.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In SquaredUp, Add a notification rule to configure when a notification should be sent, and select this destination. For Scheduled sharing, select this destination on the Destination tab.
