Status grid visualization (SmartViz)

Important

This feature is in beta and subject to change. Reach out to support with any issues.

The Status grid visualization renders one colored block per item, colored by health state. It's the SmartViz equivalent of the classic Blocks visualization, with added support for grouping, sorting, multiple status columns per row, and clickable blocks.

When to use a status grid

A status grid answers "what's broken right now?" across many items at once. Each item becomes a colored block, so a hundred healthy services read as a wall of green and the single red block finds itself.

SCOM Health and Monitors, Azure Availability, and AWS EC2 Instance Health all map directly.

Group by a column to break the grid into sections, by region or environment.

For how that state changed over time rather than what it is now, use Health history.

Try it out

Change the settings below and see how the chart updates. Select a dataset from the dropdown to see different use cases.

Series / status colors

Pin a status value to a specific color. Enter the status name, then choose its color. Use this to override the standard health colors.

Status normalization

Map raw status values from your data onto SquaredUp's built-in health states, so that a value such as degraded_performance colors correctly.

Setting

Enter the status string exactly as it appears in your data.
Health state
Select the built-in health state to map the raw value to.

Any status value you don't map falls back to Unmonitored (gray).
