Overview

The RollUp data source provides data streams that give a high-level view of health and KPI across your workspaces and dashboards. These are ideal for stakeholders who want to see status and key metrics at a glance.

What is RollUp?

RollUp provides a high-level, visual summary of health and KPI across your environment. Whether you’re monitoring multiple dashboards, key monitors, or entire workspaces, RollUp helps surface the overall state and key metrics so stakeholders can quickly understand what needs attention. Use cases include:

• Executive Overviews: A single tile to summarize dozens of dashboards or monitors.
• Ops Center Dashboards: Quickly spot degraded services.
• Cross-Team Reporting: View high-level health across functional areas or business units.

Ideal for executives or teams who need a bird’s-eye view of system health or key metrics without digging into individual tiles or dashboards.

In the tile editor, select the RollUp data source to start visualizing KPI, or health from:

• Workspaces: roll up health across multiple workspaces (e.g. teams, services).

  This feature is available with a Pro or Enterprise plan

• Dashboards: show the collective health state of one or more dashboards.
• Monitors: Aggregate the health status from individual monitored tiles.

Getting Started with RollUp

Prerequisites (Health)

RollUp relies on monitors to assess the health of specific items. Monitors are created on dashboard tiles and roll up to dashboards and workspaces.

Depending on how you configure a monitor, you can choose whether the status returns an error, warning or success to the tile. The status of the tile will then automatically roll up to the dashboard, and to the workspace. So if a tile turns red, so does the dashboard and workspace. Prerequisites (KPI)

Relies on KPIs created on dashboard tiles. Learn how to create a KPI.

Adding a RollUp tile

1. Navigate to any dashboard.
2. Add
   on a blank space to add a tile then select Data
   .
3. In the tile editor, Select RollUp from the data source list.

4. On the Data Stream tab, select the type of RollUp to create a tile for then click Next. Choose from:
   • Health
   • KPI
5. Do one the following depending on your data stream choice:
   • If you selected KPI, select the KPIs to visualize on the Parameters tab.
   • If you selected Health, complete the following on the Parameters tab:
     1. Show health for:
        Select the object type you want the health of. Choose from Workspaces, Dashboards or Tiles.
     2. Workspaces / Dashboards / Tiles:
        Select the objects to visualize.
6. Customize the tile as required, performing any shaping and selecting a visualization (by default, RollUp tiles are visualized as Blocks).
7. Click Save. The tile is added to the dashboard.
