Creating RollUp tiles

RollUp tiles come in two different flavors; health rollup or KPI rollup. They summarize signals across dashboards, workspaces, and monitored tiles, helping you present high-level status information for stakeholders and operations teams without needing to inspect individual dashboards or tiles.

These tiles are built like any other data tile and use the RollUp data source, which provides the following data streams:

  • Health: Summarize monitor health across tiles, dashboards, or workspaces to understand overall service status at a glance.
  • KPI: Aggregate KPI values from across your environment to surface performance indicators in a single tile.

This article explains how to configure a RollUp tile using the signals from your monitors or KPIs.

Before you begin

To configure a RollUp tile, you must have first configured either a monitor or KPI, depending on the data stream you intend to use.

Prerequisites (Health)

The Health data stream relies on monitors to assess the health of specific items. Monitors are created on dashboard tiles and roll up to dashboards and workspaces.

Depending on how you configure a monitor, you can choose whether the status returns an error, warning or success signal to the tile. The status of the tile will then automatically roll up to the dashboard, workspace etc.

See Adding your first monitor if you need help setting one up.

Prerequisites (KPI)

KPIs are used to group signals under a shared category which can then be aggregated at a higher level, and are configured when editing a tile. See Publishing KPIs if you need help setting one up.
