Nagios XI plugin

For more information about what this plugin does and the data streams it retrieves, see:

Nagios XI

Monitor key metrics from your Nagios environment.

This plugin adds a data source that streams data from your Nagios XI environment into SquaredUp. In your Nagios environment, metrics about your hosts are called "services", which is why the data source creates objects of type host and service. The data source comes with Data Streams to show you CPU usage and Memory usage of your hosts.
You can also visualize the status of your hosts or services with the Nagios XI Health Data Stream.

To add a data source click on the + next to Data Sources on the left-hand menu in SquaredUp. Search for the data source and click on it to open the Configure data source page.

Configuring the data source

  1. Display Name:
Enter a name for your data source. This helps you to identify this data source in the list of your data sources.

  2. Agent Group:
Select the Agent Group that contains the agent(s) you want to use.

  3. Base URL:
Enter the full URL to your Nagios XI instance, for example https://your-host/nagiosxi
  4. API Key:
Enter the API key you created in your Nagios instance.
Note: Nagios API keys are user-specific. Make sure you created the API key with a user account that has access to all the data you want to see.
  5. Restrict access to this data source:
You can enable this option if you only want certain users or groups to have access to the data source, or the permission to link it to new workspaces. See data source access control for more information.

  6. Click Add.

You can also add a data source from Settings > Data Sources > Add data source, but sample dashboards are not added when using this method.
